Platform Engineer – MS1 “Phoenix Platform”
Core Responsibilities
- Developer Enablement: Serve as the primary technical guide for teams onboarding to the platform; create tutorials, runbooks, and lead hands-on workshops on CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Pipeline Engineering: Build and maintain secure, reusable CI/CD templates (GitHub Actions).
- GitOps & Helm: Manage GitOps via Argo CD and author reusable Helm charts — treated as a product for tenant teams, not just consumed.
- Security & Quality: Integrate SAST/DAST scanning and compliance checks into the delivery lifecycle.
- Release Management: Advise on zero-downtime strategies (Blue/Green, Canary).
- Troubleshooting: Provide expert support for complex EKS issues — resource limits, ingress routing, secrets management.
Must-Have Skills
- Deep experience running, scaling, and debugging apps on Kubernetes/EKS
- Proven CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions preferred; GitLab CI/Jenkins acceptable)
- Hands-on Argo CD and Helm, including authoring complex parameterized charts
- Multi-tenant security design: RBAC, ResourceQuotas, NetworkPolicies
- Identity/ingress: OAuth2/OIDC, SSO, path-based routing, rate limiting, streaming endpoints
- Observability: building actionable Prometheus, Grafana, and AlertManager dashboards/alerts
- Scripting proficiency (Python, Bash, or Go)
- Supply-chain security: blocking vulnerability scans (OWASP, Trivy) in CI
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Harbor registries and API gateways (Kong/Nginx)
- Secrets management at scale (IRSA, AWS Secrets Manager, External Secrets)
- DataDog APM / Grafana APM
- SLO understanding and incident-response judgment
- Self-service onboarding templates (e.g., Cookiecutter)
- SAFe/PI-cadence and cross-geo collaboration experience
